Preparing content created without Visual Composer for use with Frontend Editor

If you have used an older version of Codeus with no Visual Composer onboard and now you would like to edit your existing content with Visual Composers Frontend Editor, there is one step, that should be done for preparing this content to get it properly editable in Frontend Editor. This step is necessary to do, otherwise Visual Composer will cut off your text content once saved in Frontend Editor, because it is not inside VC text containers. This is a specificity of Visual Composer plugin and we don't have any influence on this.

Please note: if you don't want to use Frontend editor and would like to continue editing in classic mode using Shortcode Options (see below), you don't have to care about this step. So, the only thing you need to do is to include all your simple text content in VC text container.

Example 1

Let's say you have previosly created a styled textbox with some text content inside. Your shortcode looks like this:


	[text_box] My Text Content Goes Here [/text_box]

In order to get this text content to be properly editable in Frontend Editor and not to be lost after page update, you need to put your text in VC text container [vc_column_text]. So your textbox should look like this:


	[text_box][vc_column_text]My Text Content Goes Here[/vc_column_text][/text_box]

Example 2

Let's say you have a kind of this content:

	<h3 style="text-align: center;">Youtube Video</h3>

In order to adjust it for Visual Composer, you need to include [vc_column_text] like this:

So as you see, everything concerning the simple text content should be included in [vc_column_text] container.

Here are the steps:

Open your existing page, which was created without Visual Composer
Stay in Classic Mode, don't switch to Backend or Frontend Editor
Find the text content, which should be included in visual composer text containers
Mark it with your mouse
Go to "Shortcode Options" panel to the right and select the first shortcode in the list "VC Text Container" and click on "Insert" . Your marked content will be automatically inserted inside [vc_column_text][/vc_column_text] container
Proceed the same steps with all other text content on this page
Click on "Update"

That's all. After including text content in VC text containers and saving your changes this page is available for comnfortable editing in Visual Composer Frontend Editor.
